WELCOME TO ASGARD! Home of the Norse gods…and their variants!

While watching Loki and thinking about how many cool characters and stories come from Asgard, I decided to make another poster. This time around my focus is on the Asgardians, their friends, their enemies, and all the other random characters that are connected to Asgard.

Inspired by comics, cartoons, tv shows, and MCU films, I’ve compiled a group of characters associated with Asgard. There are fewer characters here than in Krakoa, so I’ve drawn each character larger and clearer than before to show a little bit more of each.

Each character is made up of at least 7 layers in Photoshop: Power Effects, Lines, Lighting, Shading, Color, Shape, NameTag. They are then compiled into one giant file and I begin drawing the scene and placing characters in groups.

Since I’m such a fan of the X-Men, I included a Krakoan portal to bring over some mutants. Storm and Dazzler both wielded Mjolnir in the comics and had some cool stories. I thought it was awesome when Dani Moonstar became a Valkyrie and always loved an old What If? book about Rogue absorbing Thor’s powers, so I included her, too!
